After TTC for 9 months we are finally pregnant... Here's my story post BFP!! |
This morning I took what I hope to be my last trip to the ADAU at the hospital, it was just a follow up appointment to ensure my bp was still normal and any preeclampsia worries are out of here.
Fortunately me and baby are all fine apart from a little bladder infection which I’ve been prescribed some antibiotics for. Annoyingly though they think the reason I’ve been having contractions is because of this infection and not because my little man is on his way :-( boooooo I’ve just got myself all psyched up that labour was going to be kicking off because of all the cramping etc but now I’ve been told its just Braxton hicks and I may have a little way to go yet. Very frustrating!!!
Yes I’m really happy my baby is fighting fit and healthy but I’m getting so uncomfortable now I really just want him here. I feel so big and constantly tired and as selfish as it may sound I’m ready for to be out.
So I just nipped to the loo with a bit of a fright as I thought I’d already had a bloody show a few days ago but was more browny tinged rather than pinky red just now!
Although I know it’s all natural it’s the first time I’ve felt really nervous about what the next few days could bring.
I know I’m going to be fine and I can do this like many women before me but all of a sudden it feels very real.
I really hope my blood pressure stays normal and I can get in the pool and do this the way I’ve planned with no preeclampsia concerns - fingers crossed!!
So blood pressure was even higher this morning which meant my afternoon was spent at the ADAU being monitored and having all my vitals checked.
Everything came back fine, babies healthy, I seem okay and blood pressure was checked multiple times. I did also have an internal examination (VERY uncomfortable) to check I wasn’t already dilated as I’d had a few early labour signs but cervix is normal pre baby. Although since then I do feel like something’s up down below - very odd sensation I have to say.
So what on earth is wrong with me….? I have to be closely monitored for preeclampsia just in case but every time I get checked they seem to be saying it sounds more like his on his way any day now than anything else.
I guess we just have to wait it out now….. C’mon baby!!!
Just had my weekly midwives appointment and my blood pressure was a little higher than usual.
With the preeclampsia worry from a few weeks back we went through all the normal checks and everything seems normal. In fact it seems that baby may in fact be on the way…. It is normal to have a surge in blood pressure before labour and the fact his low down, I’m feeling nauseous and very uncomfortable are all key signs he might be on his way!!!
Eeeeeeecccckkkkk I’m sooooo freaking excited!!!
I’ve got a home visit tomorrow to double check blood pressure again but I’m thinking we may have a personal appearance by the little man himself any day now.
So last night was the 3rd time this week I’ve had to get up and pace around with what felt like mild contractions, cramping sensations and very uncomfortable baby movements.
I’ve woke up today feeling rather odd and have not stopped pooing (excuse the grossness) but I’ve heard this could be the bodies way preparing for labor?
I’m really excited yet absolutely terrified. The mr is at work and I feel slightly on edge today. Is this for real or is my body playing tricks on me!?
I can’t wait to meet my little man, I want him hear and healthy whenever his ready… But I do think its going to be sooner rather than later.
I think a warm shower and a bounce on my ball to ease the back ache is in need 😃
I’ve been up for the last hour (since 3am) with the sensation I’m coming on. It’s really rather strange…. 9 months of no period but as soon as you get that niggle it all comes rushing back.
I’ve got a little cramping front and back, a slight urge to be sick and have cleared my Bowles - could this be the start of something!??
I’m staying calm but I’m secretly super excited!!!
Yes!! Preeclampsia worries put to bed at my midwives appointment just now. Last week was just a little blip and me and bump are A OKAY!! Lets hope it doesn’t rear it’s ugly head again anytime soon.
Very much looking forward to our first antenatal class tonight 😃
I can not believe another week has passed…. I’m getting so excited for our little mans arrival and trying to make the most of my time pre d-day the best I can.
I don’t know if its just nerves or mothers intuition but I feel like he’s going to be here soon. I’m already feeling quite uncomfortable down below, have lower back ache and lots of pressure…. Time will tell I guess.
I feel ready and organised so bring it on!!
The week ahead consists of our first antenatal class which I’m really looking forward to going with the mr.
And my weekly midwives appointment to fingers crossed rule out preeclampsia concerns.
So just had my 35+4 week midwive appointment and have left feeling rather nervous at the slight possibility of preeclampsia.
My blood levels are a little high, constant fatigue, swelling in feet and hands and headaches. I know these are all symptoms that could be the result of something else however now the seed has been planted in my head so has the worry.
Seeing my midwive weekly now to stay on top of it all. Fingers crossed my blood pressure is back to normal at next weeks check up.
Yawn!!! Tiredness has most certainly taken over… I don’t know if its the iron deficiency or just the fact bump is growing at the rate of knots and his taking up all my energy!?
On top of that I’m starting to get slightly overwhelmed by it all. I know d day is fast approaching and the nerves are starting to kick in :-(
I’m hoping its just the hormones and I snap out of this feeling ASAP!
I’m trying to lay off the milk and Gaviscon in order for the iron tablets to get absorbed quicker which means constant heartburn :-( booooo!!!
After feeling so poorly and tired from this iron deficiency I’m doing my up most to steer clear of the milk and eat as much iron fuelled food.
I have to say the steak and spinach is going down a treat though, prunes nonetheless not so much!!!
Great - another new preggo symptom has occurred…. The doc just called with regards to my most recent blood test from last weeks mid wives appointment and I have become anaemic :-(
I know I know it’s not the end of the world and i have been prescribed me some iron tablets but the pregnancy irrationality has kicked in once again after reading tonnes of articles online. Why do we do it to ourselves!?
Anybody out there had the same diagnosis? I’m in need of some sound advice :-)
6 weeks to go, I’ve finished work already (taking holiday on mass before mat leave kicks in) and pregnancy symptoms are becoming more and more as each day goes on but on a whole I’m still loving it!!
My ankles are officially no more, lower back pain and heartburn seems pretty constant and my hands are becoming very sore at night due to poor circulation. Oh the joys!
I’m hoping some time off will help me to relax and give me some much needed resting time before our little man arrives.
The main thing on my to do list this week is get the hospital bag finished- I’m half way there really but once I know its done I can sleep easy!
Had my final scan on Monday just gone and I have great news… My placenta has stretched round and a natural birth is now on the cards hooorrraaayyy!!!
My little man is perfectly healthy, average size and is head down.
Gawd!! I am just so excited, it’s all coming together perfectly and I can’t wait for him to be here already. (Although not too soon as I’m just 32+4 weeks) :-)
So my friend has lent me her birth ball and I can’t tell you how much more comfortable it is as opposed to the couch.
My little man seems to be enjoying the movement and I know it’s doing me good down below - BONUS!!
4 hours, 2hours and then 2 more with only 15-20 minutes awake each time. And baby girl is still snoring away next to me.
